“Szczęście świata”

Szczęście Świata - plakat

An exceptional tenement house in Silesia just next to the Polish-German border and its inhabitants: the beautiful Jewess Róża and three men infatuated with her – a Pole, a Silesian and a German. There are also two supporting characters: a journalist from Warsaw, bon vivant Sobański, Róża’s object of admiration, and Jan, a family friend. We meet the characters in the summer of 1939. The first part of the film ends with a dramatic war night. We meet them again in the fifties, when the surviving residents try to find themselves in the new reality.
Lambros Ziotas produced the film through Argomedia in coproduction with Telewizja Polska, IF Silesia-Film, Audiovisual Technology Center (Centrum Technologii Audiowizualnych CeTA) and D35. The project received support from the Polish Film Institute.
